Residential Visits & Day Trips

Residential Visits

The benefits provided by residential visits cannot be underestimated. As a school with an urban location, our residential trips to rural settings not only offer a vital change of environment but form shared experiences between teachers and peers that cannot be replicated in the classroom.

Our residential trips programme commences in Year 3 with a 4 night stay at Hilltop outward-bounds in the Norfolk Countryside. Year 4 and 6 Spend a week at Moorland Hall in Devon experiencing the Devonshire countryside and a rolling programme of challenging and stimulating outdoor activities, depending on their age. Activities include surfing and body boarding, abseiling, gorge walking and kayaking to mention but a few. Year 5 spend a week camping in Dorset by the coast and enjoy the thrill of living under canvas – whatever the weather – as well as orienteering and coasteering. Year 6 venture a little further after their 11+ exams and spend a week skiing in Alpes D’Huez in France.

Day trips

We ensure the children go on stimulating and exciting day trips to support the curriculum and learning going on inside the classroom. Every term, each year group will have at least one trip and some are lucky enough to have more. Workshops in school are also provided.
